In the country of Monopoli exists typical Apulian farmhouse, a farm painted with old rose and Persian green, arose in the first years of the 1800.
At the beginning it was the residence of a parson, from where the name of the farmhouse “Curatori” is derived and then it was always inhabited by farmer’s families. Since 1948 this farmhouse is in the  possession of the family Contento, who changed it into a farm in the 1991.
The structure lies in the absolute harmony with the landscape and the country life.
Centuries old olive-trees, pastures, an ancient oil press, a large citrus orchard, which is protected by a leading fortified wall, all these things make the frame for a long live reality of framing (cows, horses, poultries, …).
The stay is a happy union between a dimension of a pastoral relaxation and a stimulating rediscovery of ancient farmings.  A siesta in the quiet citrus orchard, a ride with the bicycle, or with the calash, a walk true the oil-trees, or to give assistance to milking, to the care for the horses, to the preparation of milk products, of flat bread, taralli, friselle baked in a wood burning oven, these are some various options of an alternative holiday.
Some pictures of the inside and outside of the farm
These atmospheres were widely described in the book “Salute!” written by G. and K. Donovan and S. Griffiths, it is a complete diary of a tour through holiday farms in the south of Italy.
